Tom Lanier
Vice President & COO
Tom Lanier is the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of BWC Solutions, bringing more than 25 years of law enforcement experience and operational leadership to the team. Tom retired from the United States Marshals Service (USMS) in 2020, where he had a distinguished career, culminating in his role as Chief Inspector for the Northwest Region of the Sex Offender Investigations Branch (SOIB). As an original member of the SOIB, Tom played a crucial role in building the branch from the ground up, collaborating with federal, state, and local legislative bodies, as well as law enforcement agencies across his 12-state region.
Earlier in his career, Tom served as the Supervisory Deputy of the Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force, overseeing fugitive investigations throughout Western Washington. His extensive experience in managing complex operations and investigations enabled him to develop and deliver training to thousands of law enforcement officers across the country.
Tom was also selected by the USMS to design and conduct specialized training courses at the National Police Academies in San Jose, Costa Rica, and Brasilia, Brazil. He has presented at international law enforcement forums such as Interpol in Lyon, France, an Interpol Fugitive Conference in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, and the International Association of Fugitive Investigators conference in Toronto, Canada.
In 2021, Tom transitioned to a contractor role with the USMS Body Worn Camera Program, where he played a pivotal role in developing and delivering training for fugitive task force officers across the nation. He also managed and reviewed footage from thousands of hours of body-worn camera videos, ensuring compliance with standards and best practices.
A former U.S. Marine, Tom is a graduate of the University of Washington and a four-time recipient of the prestigious USMS Director's Award, including two Distinguished Service Awards.
