Tom Lanier

Vice President & COO

Tom Lanier is the Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of BWC Solutions. Tom retired from the United States Marshals Service (USMS) in 2020 after a 25-year career. For the last decade of his tenure with the USMS, Tom served as the Chief Inspector for the Northwest Region of the Sex Offender Investigations Branch (SOIB). Tom was an original member of the SOIB and helped build the branch from the ground up, collaborating extensively with members of federal, state, and local legislative and governing bodies as well as executive-level law enforcement personnel across hundreds of agencies in his 12-state region. Earlier in his career, Tom served as the Supervisory Deputy of the Pacific Northwest Fugitive Apprehension Task Force overseeing all fugitive investigations in Western Washington. Tom has developed and delivered training for thousands of federal, state, and local law enforcement personnel across the country. He was selected by the USMS to develop and conduct training courses at the National Police Academies in San Jose, Costa Rica, and Brasilia, Brazil as well as being a presenter at Interpol in Lyon, France, an Interpol Fugitive Conference in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, and the International Association of Fugitive Investigators conference in Toronto, Canada.

In 2021, Tom became a contractor with the U.S. Marshals Service Body Worn Camera Program where he played a pivotal role in the development and delivery of training to fugitive Task Force Officers nationwide from hundreds of agencies, as well as managing and reviewing footage from thousands of hours of BWC videos. Tom is a former Marine, a graduate of the University of Washington and a four-time winner of the USMS Director's Award including two Distinguished Service Awards.
