Josh Butout serves as Director of Sales for the Western United States. He retired this year after 25 years of dedicated service to the United States Marshals Service (USMS). Prior to his retirement, Josh served as the Deputy Branch Chief of the Technical Operations Group (TOG), a national security investigative branch, specializing in technical surveillance, providing some of the world's most advanced electronic surveillance capabilities to thwart sophisticated domestic and international threats against the United States. He is a recognized expert in executive security protection and providing technical investigative and security response to global crises, critical incidents, and civil unrest. He began his career with the USMS in 1998, after graduating from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. His first duty station was Phoenix, AZ, where he served as Street Coordinator for the Arizona District Fugitive Task Force. Josh also served as District Coordinator for the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) during this time, where he targeted the world's most dangerous Mexican Cartel members.
Josh was a member of the USMS Special Operations Group, where he participated in numerous high threat details and enforcement action. As Deputy Branch of TOG, he was responsible for all Western U.S. operations, along with International and Military engagements. The relationships Josh has developed over his career have provided him the ability to work collaboratively within law enforcement, Intelligence and Department of Defense communities. During his meritorious career, Josh has received several prestigious awards to include: Robert Forsyth Valor Award, Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association Heroism Award, Director’s Honorary Award, and The Director of National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation.
